  Shogun Won...Idc if machida wasnt knocked out or submitted..he was dominated thats why dana told him he won that fight right after he put rua's belt on machida....machidas a good fighter, but shogun won tonight

  Ok, I agree with the majority that Shogun won that fight, however, in order to take a belt from the champion, you can not do so by merely standing up with him. you have to obviously dominate the fight, knock him out or make him submit. Can you imagine watching highlights of that years down the road... and shogun wins by progressive leg kicks!! he really turned Machidas belly red! In order to take the title, you have to knock out the champion like machida did to Rashad, submit him or completely dominate him. Shogun put up a good defense, but it's not enough to merely stand up with the champion to win you over the belt.

  horrible judges.... i was cheering for lyoto and i even called it atleast 4 - 5 rounds shogun.. half the crowd who doesnt know mma from **** knew shogun won .... my mom watched the fight and said shogun bagged lyoto.. what a imbarasment to ufc. and even dana white was pumping shoguns tires after fight cause he knew it was ********..

  shogun is a great fighter but he stands no chance top lyoto machida. Lyoto is a very powerfull striker like shogn but his technique is alot better

  Machida is going to dominate this fight. i love Shoguns Muay Thai aggressive style of fighting and he is one of the best on the ground but in order to beat Machida you need to throw something different at him. he is use to the brawlers and from what i have seen on the recent videos of him training and the countdown show he is in the right zone to counter the power and skill of Shogun. I will be flying in from New York to see this fight so i will post and let you all know the awesomeness that is UFC.

  i think ppl are severely underrating shogun. i think machida will destroy him too but give the guy some credit, he made rampage look like a rag doll...twice.
