what alves should have done

i normally don't do this but my boy george didn't disappoint.. what now??

alves IMO didn't look as great as he did against hughes.. i have a lot of respect to this guy, but he should have done something to at least make the fight close to even.. for me it was one sided.. i knew the takedowns would be the key to his victory and it was.. GSP was able to control him on the ground though i was surprised alves did shake him off a lot of times.. GSP dominated the fight not just the ground game, but standing up as well.. he even knocked him down and i was like wowwww.. it was the last thing i expected.. what alves should have done?? IMO, he shouldn't have been afraid of GSP's takedowns.. i could see he was so hesitant to throw those wild punches and leg kicks and knees because he was afraid of being taken down.. let's admit it, those are his only chances of winning against GSP but hell no, i didn't see the thiago who's willing to die there to fulfill his dream..

ps: blast and arcang3l, i was waiting for the knee.. but i must admit, that fight was really the scariest..

    I think he should've realized St-Pierre was going to take him down if he rushed in with strikes. So, instead of changing that game plan of rushing Rush, he should've used it to his advantage and charged in with strikes. But the difference would be on the third strike STOP the foward progress to set your weight and throw the knee because you KNOW he's going to take you down from rushing him with strikes! Should've been more creative and not try to find the KO and let the KO come to him.

    i think that alves should have thrown those leg kicks like a mad men in the first 3 rounds so what he would get takedown he was getting back up quite easy though sometimes

    Alves proves that with the caliber of GSP you need an awesome rounded skill set and then its 50/50

    alves should have moved to mid weight earlier in his carrer for this not to have happened. he cuts alot of weight and imo he'd do better in that class. gps is far too good for anyone who cuts that much weight to beat him. alves actually did good, despite that fact, exactly what i expected from him thought hes tough. ima' call gsp 'the vet", he just neutored the pitbull! lol
