all rumble proved is he can beat up smaller people

October 26, 2009

seriously he needs to move up in weight it was alomost not interesting to watch as u knew what would happen as soon as they came out.he needs to test himself not mess around with all the little guys.

seriously does anyone agree he needs to move up cuz hes just gonna knock the hell out of most of the division if he wants to make a statement he should move up to see if he is truly as dominant as proven thus far.i like rumble and think his ability is pretty amazing he is fast powerful pretty good gas tank and versatile striking and pretty good wrestling and takedown defense he is just too big for that weigh class im sure if he moved up he would have more energy and better conditioning as one would imagine a 50 pound weight cut is a tremendous strain on the body.what does the community think???

Also, I like seeing fighters fighting at the end of the fight like the fight just started instead of them dragging arse ten minutes into the fight.

I don't see how fighting at your best could be a cop out. Also, if all the fighters fought at their walk around weight it would thin out the lighter weight classes and just about everyone would be a middleweight on up. And I still stand behind the notion that the fighters overseas would benefit by cutting weight. Not only with cardio, but also with strength and conditioning. They're so focused on their technique and arts instead of just what it is that utilizes those arts and techniques... their bodies. Penn is another example. He walks around 170+, but is his talent only carried him so far. We can all agree he belongs at 155, right?

Wanderkei has the biggest problem being his small stature. He's 5'11" fighting at 205lbs. So the weight cut was necessary for him, but also a cop out too. Look Rashad, Forrest, Chucky, Wandt, Rampage, Jardine, Bones Jones, Bonner, Tito, Luis Cane, Lyoto Machida are all Heavyweights. Everyone of them are. The only one who isnt is Hendo whenever he competes at 205lbs. He's the only exception. Bisping waas the other but dropped to 185lbs. Everyone in UFC that fights in their divisions really belong to the next division above them. But with all the weight cutting going around the divisions really thin out after a while........

Look all Im saying is Rumble is huge. Yoshida doesnt cut weight. He is somewhere around 170lbs naturally, as are many Japanese fighters. Like Akiyama at 185lbs, and Sakuraba at 205lbs. These guys are warriors who fight at their natural weight. Diego is around 170lbs. But most of 170lbsers are around 185lbs to 190lbs. Only Matt Serra is the natural 170lbs. The whole weight cutting takes away compettion. Tibau should be at 170lbs. And Thiago Alves shoul dbe 185lbs. Rumble and & Anderson are 205lbs. As for Hendo. he barely makes 205lbs. When he faced Vitor he was 195lbs. Same when he fought Wandy the 1st time.

i think this guy is a future champion.....he has great striking and great wrestling that hasnt needed to be displayed yet. and like everyone else is saying, if he can make the weight...whats the problem. just look at people like BROCK, TITO, FORREST, ALVES, DIEGO.....they are all bigger than most opponents...it just didnt help that yoshida is a very small welterweight!!!!
